Friendswood is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, part of Galveston County and Harris County, the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown Metropolitan Area. From the 2000 U.S. Census, the city population was 29,037.

Friendswood was founded in 1895, members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quaker).

Was 10,107 households, of which 43.7% were under the age of 18 living with them, 68.5% were married couples living together, 8.7% were women householder with no husband present, and 20.0% were non-families. 17.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.85 and the average family size was 3.23.

In fact, the population of the city spread out with 30.0% less than 18-6.2% 18-24, 29.4% 25-44, 25.7% 45-64 and 8.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females were 93.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, was 90.4 for men.

The average income for a household in the city was $ 69,384 and the median income for a family was $ 77,293. Males had an average income $ 60,304 versus $ 35,447 for females. Per capita income in the city was $ 28,615. Approximately 2.3% of families and 3.3% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.4% under the age of 18 and 3.8% of those 65 or more.
